Brazilian Butt Lift (Svelta Curve Transfer™) in Miami

The Brazilian Butt Lift is a fat transfer procedure that removes unwanted fat from one area of the body, typically the abdomen, flanks, or thighs, and injects it into the buttocks to create a fuller, rounder, more lifted appearance. At Svelta Plastic Surgery, we perform this as the Svelta Curve Transfer™.

Unlike implants, a BBL uses your own natural fat, resulting in results that look and feel completely natural. The dual benefit of liposuction plus buttock enhancement makes it one of the most requested procedures at Svelta Plastic Surgery.

Starting Price
$4,500

Final cost depends on the amount of fat transferred and areas of liposuction. Combination packages start at $7,500. Financing available.

Am I a Good Candidate for a BBL?

  • You have sufficient donor fat in the abdomen, flanks, thighs, or back to harvest and transfer.
  • You're within 10–30 lbs of your goal weight, you don't need to be at your ideal weight.
  • You're in good overall health with no active infections or chronic healing conditions.
  • You're a non-smoker or committed to stopping at least 4 weeks before and after surgery.
  • You're committed to post-operative protocols, including avoiding direct pressure on the buttocks during recovery.

Very slender patients without enough donor fat for a standard transfer are often better candidates for a Skinny BBL or butt implants instead. Your consultation is where your surgeon confirms which approach fits your anatomy.

How a BBL Works: Fat Harvesting & Transfer

A BBL is really two procedures in one: liposuction, then fat transfer.

1

Fat Harvesting

Your surgeon performs liposuction on one or more donor areas, commonly the abdomen, flanks, back, or thighs, both slimming those areas and collecting the fat needed for transfer.

2

Purification

The harvested fat is processed and purified to isolate healthy fat cells, removing fluid and damaged cells before it's reinjected.

3

Layered Injection

Purified fat is injected into the buttocks in small amounts across multiple layers and angles, shaping volume and contour while avoiding the muscle for safety.

4

Fat Survival

Not all transferred fat survives, typically 60–80% does. The surviving fat becomes a permanent part of your body, which is why technique and injection precision matter so much.

Which BBL Approach Fits You?

A standard BBL isn't the only path to fuller curves. Here's how Svelta's other buttock procedures differ.

Skinny BBL

Built for slender frames with less donor fat available. Transfers a smaller volume and emphasizes shape and waist definition over dramatic size. Learn more →

BBL Revision

Corrects drooping, asymmetry, or contour irregularities from a previous BBL, at Svelta or elsewhere. More complex than a primary BBL due to scar tissue. Learn more →

Lipo 360 + BBL

Full-circumference liposuction of the midsection combined with a BBL for a complete waist-to-curves transformation in one surgery. Learn more →

Tummy Tuck + BBL

Removes excess abdominal skin and tightens the muscle wall while enhancing the buttocks, popular with post-pregnancy patients. Learn more →

Not sure a BBL is right for you at all? If you lack sufficient donor fat, butt implants may be a better fit. See our full BBL vs. butt implants comparison for a detailed breakdown of both.

Your BBL Consultation

Every BBL at Svelta starts with an in-depth, one-on-one consultation, not a pre-set package.

1

Initial Consultation

Your surgeon evaluates your donor fat availability, current shape, and the look you want to achieve.

2

Technique Recommendation

You'll get a specific recommendation, standard BBL, Skinny BBL, or a combination procedure, based on your anatomy.

3

Before & After Review

Review photos of similar patients and get a written, personalized cost estimate before deciding whether to move forward.

4

Surgery Scheduling

Once you're ready, your surgery date is scheduled with pre-operative labs and clearance arranged around your timeline.

How to Prepare for Your BBL

  • Complete pre-operative labs and medical clearance as directed by your surgical team.
  • Stop smoking or nicotine use at least 4 weeks before surgery, and stay stopped through recovery.
  • Arrange for a caregiver to help at home for the first several days, since you'll need to avoid sitting normally.
  • Purchase a BBL pillow and compression garment in advance so they're ready before surgery day.
  • Set up your recovery space with pillows or a wedge to help you sleep on your stomach or side.
  • Set realistic expectations for the timeline below, final results take months, not weeks, to fully appear.

Your surgeon will walk through a personalized version of this checklist at your consultation, tailored to your health history and surgical plan.

BBL Recovery Timeline

Proper aftercare, especially protecting the transferred fat, is essential to achieving optimal results.

1

Week 1

Rest and avoid sitting directly on the buttocks. Sleep on your stomach or side. Compression garment worn 24/7.

2

Weeks 2–3

Light walking encouraged. Use a BBL pillow when seated. Continue wearing compression garment as directed.

3

Weeks 4–6

Gradually resume normal activities and sitting. Avoid strenuous exercise. Swelling and bruising continue to subside.

4

6–8 Weeks

Most patients return to full activity, including exercise. Final results begin to emerge as swelling resolves completely.

BBL Results: What to Expect

BBL results in Miami can last a lifetime when patients maintain a stable weight and follow post-surgical protocols. The fat that survives the transfer, typically 60–80%, becomes a permanent part of the body and behaves like any other fat cells, meaning significant weight changes can still affect it.

Swelling makes it difficult to judge your shape in the first few weeks. Final results typically emerge at 3–6 months once swelling fully resolves and the surviving fat has settled into place. Because the enhancement uses your own tissue, results look and feel natural from every angle, not just from the front.

BBL FAQs

What is a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL)? +
A Brazilian Butt Lift, performed at Svelta Plastic Surgery as the Svelta Curve Transfer™, is a fat transfer procedure that removes fat from one area of the body, typically the abdomen, flanks, or thighs, and injects it into the buttocks to create a fuller, rounder, more lifted appearance using your own natural tissue.
Am I a good candidate for a BBL? +
Good candidates are in good general health, have sufficient donor fat available for transfer, maintain a stable weight, and have realistic expectations. You don't need to be at your ideal weight, most patients are within 10–30 lbs of their goal. A consultation determines your specific candidacy.
How is a BBL performed? +
A BBL is a two-part procedure. First, your surgeon performs liposuction on donor areas (commonly the abdomen, flanks, back, or thighs) to harvest fat. That fat is then purified and strategically injected in layers into the buttocks to shape and add volume, avoiding injection into muscle for safety.
What's the difference between a BBL and butt implants? +
A BBL uses your own fat, so results look and feel natural, but requires enough donor fat to transfer. Butt implants use a silicone device, offering a permanent, more dramatic option for very lean patients who lack sufficient donor fat. See our full BBL vs. butt implants comparison for a detailed breakdown.
What's the difference between a standard BBL and a Skinny BBL? +
A Skinny BBL is designed for slender frames with less donor fat available. It transfers a smaller volume and focuses more on shaping and waist definition than adding significant size. A standard BBL is for patients with more donor fat who want more noticeable volume. Learn more on our Skinny BBL page.
What happens during a BBL consultation? +
Your surgeon evaluates your donor fat availability, current shape, and goals, then recommends a specific technique and realistic outcome. You'll review before and after photos of similar patients and receive a personalized cost estimate before deciding whether to move forward.
How long does BBL surgery take? +
A standalone BBL typically takes 2–4 hours, depending on how many donor areas are treated and the volume of fat transferred. Combined procedures, like Lipo 360 with BBL or a Tummy Tuck and BBL, take longer, often 4–6 hours.
What type of anesthesia is used for a BBL? +
BBL procedures are performed under general anesthesia in our A+ accredited surgical facility, since the procedure involves liposuction of donor areas plus the fat transfer itself.
How long is BBL recovery? +
Most patients take 1–2 weeks off work and return to light activity. Full recovery takes 6–8 weeks. You'll need to avoid sitting directly on the buttocks for the first 2–3 weeks and wear a compression garment throughout early recovery.
When can I sit normally again after a BBL? +
Most patients can resume normal sitting, without a BBL pillow, around 3–6 weeks after surgery, once your surgeon confirms the transferred fat has stabilized. Until then, sitting directly on the buttocks risks compressing blood flow to the newly transferred fat cells.
When will I see my final BBL results? +
Initial swelling makes it hard to judge your shape in the first few weeks. Final results typically emerge at 3–6 months once swelling fully resolves and the surviving fat has settled into place.
How long do BBL results last? +
Results are long-lasting. About 60–80% of the transferred fat survives permanently and behaves like the rest of your body's fat, meaning it can be affected by significant weight changes but is otherwise stable. Maintaining a steady weight preserves your results.
Will I have scars after a BBL? +
Yes, but they're minimal. Fat harvesting uses the same small liposuction incisions as any lipo procedure, and fat injection uses tiny puncture sites in the buttocks. Scars are small and fade significantly over time.
Can I combine a BBL with other procedures? +
Yes. A BBL is commonly combined with a tummy tuck, Lipo 360, or breast augmentation, or built into a full Mommy Makeover. Combination packages let you address multiple areas in one surgery and one recovery period.
What is the cost of a BBL in Miami? +
At Svelta Plastic Surgery, standalone BBL procedures start at $4,500. Combination packages, like Lipo 360 with BBL or Tummy Tuck and BBL, start at $7,500–$8,500. Final cost depends on the amount of fat transferred and areas treated. Financing is available.
Can I finance my BBL? +
Yes. We offer CareCredit and Affirm financing with low monthly payment options, plus an in-house layaway plan. Visit our Financing page or ask during your consultation for options tailored to your surgical plan.
What if I'm not happy with my BBL results? +
If a previous BBL, whether at Svelta or elsewhere, left you with drooping, asymmetry, or contour irregularities, a BBL revision may be able to correct it. Revisions are more complex than a primary BBL due to scar tissue and donor fat availability. See our BBL Revision page for details.
